NO TRASH AND RECYCLING COLLECTIONS: There will be no trash or recycling collections this Friday in Baltimore City.

Make-up Trash and Recycling Day is Saturday, November 11 for those whose collections are on Friday.


DPW YARDS CLOSED: All Citizen Convenience Centers will be CLOSED, including the Quarantine Road Landfill.

MECHANICAL STREET SWEEPING: There will be NO Mechanical Street Sweeping on November 10. Street Sweeping parking restrictions will NOT be in effect that day.


BULK TRASH: There will be NO bulk trash collection scheduled on the Veterans Day holiday.


PARKING METERS: Parking meters WILL be in effect on November 10 and November 11.

Leaf Collection Season

Fall Leaves

DPW has begun collecting leaves from city residents by appointment.  Leaf collections, by appointment, will continue through Monday, Jan. 8.  Leaves can be collected in two ways:


Weekly trash pick-up: Bagged leaves are collected on regularly scheduled trash collection days. DPW solid waste crews collect up to 5 bags of leaves from each address every week.


By Appointment: Bagged leaves, up to 20 bags, will be collected by appointment on Mondays, during the leaf collection season, Oct. 30 – Jan. 8. 

Please call 311 before 6 p.m. on Sunday to arrange a leaf collection for the following Monday.  Residents may schedule multiple appointments for up to two months prior to the pick-up date. Multiple appointments may be scheduled until all of your bagged leaves are collected.

York Road Fall Clean Ups

It’s time to get our hands dirty to beautify our community!  Join with fellow community members and the Loyola community for our annual fall clean ups!

November 18

Volunteers meet at 9:45am at Loyola’s Public Safety Headquarters (5104 York Road).  Free parking is available.  Volunteering will take place from 10:15am – 12:00pm.  Projects include, but are not limited to: community gardening, trash clean up, weeding & mulching, planting flowers, and painting.

To request a group of volunteers for your neighborhood or organization, fill out this Request Form.  Priority will be given to projects on or near York Road.

Neighborhoods and community-based non-profits can receive up to $1,000

The Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts is excited to announce the return of the MECU Neighborhood Event Grants for 2018. Each year, the program awards cash grants to Baltimore neighborhood associations and community-based non-profit organizations for the purpose of producing special events.  Thanks to the support of MECU, Baltimore’s credit union, eligible groups can receive up to $1,000 to produce an event for the community and residents they serve, such as art workshops, back-to-school rallies, block parties, book drives, food drives, health fairs and neighborhood clean-ups.

Applications and guidelines are available at  The deadline for submissions is Sunday, October 1, 2017. MECU Neighborhood Event Grants are a program of the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts and are supported by MECU, Baltimore’s Credit Union.

Applicants must be a 501(c)(3) organization and based in Baltimore City.  Proposed events must be free and open to the public and take place between April 1 and December 31, 2018.  Grants are awarded on a competitive basis.  Required materials include a completed application, tax exemption documentation, financial statement and project budget.  Grant recipients must attend a mandatory workshop on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 10AM, exact location TBD.
